Use this custom desktop font to display characters from First Nations languages.
The First Nations Unicode Font is available to anyone promoting the documentation of, and literacy in, First Nations languages.
The font was developed by the Musqueam Language Program (MLP) as part of a previous project from the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) at UBC.
Download the font
The font is available to download as a .ttf file. However, please note that as an older initiative, CIS does not provide troubleshooting support for the font.
Tip: We recommend using Firefox or Microsoft Edge to download the font. You may run into technical issues when downloading the font using Google Chrome or Safari.\
Windows
- Download the .zip file using the button below.
- Unzip the .zip file into a separate folder. To unzip, right click the file and select "extract all".
- Follow the instructions in the "First Nations Unicode Windows readme" text file.
Mac
- Download the .zip file using the button below
- In Finder, double click the .zip file to unzip it.
- Follow the instructions in the "First Nations Unicode Windows readme" text file.
