Congratulations to Dr. Candis Callison on Her Promotion to Professor



We are delighted to announce that Dr. Candis Callison has been promoted to the rank of Professor at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Callison is a member of the Tahltan Nation and has been a distinguished faculty member in the School of Journalism, Writing, and Media, the Institute for Critical Indigenous Studies, and the Centre for Climate Justice.

Dr. Callison’s research and teaching focus on Indigenous journalism, media ethics, and the role of social movements in public discourse. She is the co-author of Reckoning: Journalism’s Limits and Possibilities (Oxford University Press, 2020) and the author of How Climate Change Comes to Matter: The Communal Life of Facts (Duke University Press, 2014). Her work has earned her numerous accolades, including election to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and recognition as a Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Fellow.
