Major in First Nations and Endangered Languages (FNEL)
Ensure that you’re fulfilling your requirements to obtain your Bachelor of Arts (BA) in First Nations and Endangered Languages (FNEL).
Students pursuing an FNEL major may wish to consider a double major in related areas such as First Nations and Indigenous Studies, Anthropology, Anthropological Archaeology, Linguistics, English Language, English Literature, History, Political Science, or Canadian Studies, among other options.
Minor in First Nations and Endangered Languages (FNEL)
The minor in First Nations and Endangered Languages (FNEL) is open to all UBC undergraduate students in degree programs that allow you to complete a minor in the Faculty of Arts.
To obtain an FNEL minor, you must complete a certain number of credits in select courses.
Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree requirements
BA requirements (2024 or later)
If you are entering the BA program in 2024/25 or later, you must complete a minimum of 120 credits to earn your degree including the Ways of Knowing breadth requirement.
BA requirements (Pre-2024)
If you began your BA program prior to the 2024/25 Winter Session, you must complete the pre-2024 degree requirements.
