From critical theory to language revitalization, find your place at the Institute for Critical Indigenous Studies (CIS) at UBC.

Home to two undergraduate programs, we offer Bachelor of Arts (BA) and minor programs in First Nations and Indigenous Studies (FNIS) and First Nations and Endangered Languages (FNEL).

Our degree programs are interdisciplinary by nature, inviting you to study a breadth of Indigenous topics within the social sciences and humanities. We’re committed to ethical scholarship and meaningful community engagement, and strive to enhance the experiences of Indigenous peoples locally and globally.
