Institute for Critical Indigenous Studies professors Dr. Tricia Logan (jointly appointed with the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs) and Dr. Pasang Sherpa (jointly appointed with the Department of Asian Studies) have been awarded grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
Dr. Logan has been awarded an Insight Grant for her research “Facing Colonial Complicity and Mobilizing Reparations in Canadian Higher Education.” Insight Grants support research excellence in social sciences and humanities. Funding is available to both emerging scholars and established scholars for research initiatives of two to five years.
Dr. Sherpa has been awarded an Insight Development Grant for her research “Living: A Sherpa Offering to an Ailing Planet.” Insight Development Grants support research in its initial stages. The grants enable the development of new research questions, as well as experimentation with new methods, theoretical approaches and/or ideas.
